Hi,
I'm an exchange student with limited money sent by my parents so I tried going raw with just greens ( i love greens for being cheap) but after succumbing to cravings for like the fifth time I just decided that if I'm going to take this raw thing seriously I'm going to have to make some investment at least!
So I ordered Cohen's book today (can't wait, have been wanting to get it ever since I got introduced to raw) and I wanted to buy some organic dates, nuts, fruits and olives (I swear I'm craving grapefruits olives and figs but no I don't have asthma)
I'd love to know where I can get these cheap online
Also I'm curious where everyone gets their produce :)

The more exotic stuff I get from the internet: chocolate, goji berries, coconut flakes. Sometimes it's just cheaper to buy local than pay postage. Sprouts I get online.

I'm afraid I don't know any health food stores excep Whole Foods (I thought it was quite expensive there)
Where do you get your goji berries?

I get most of my stuff at the health food store. They will order pretty much anything I want. They get boxes of produce each week too. If I need anything else I just get it at the grocery store or order online. But I don't need to order much online.

Please don't feel that you need to purchase "superfoods" (goji berries, cacao, etc.) to be on a raw foods diet. You can easily be raw by going through the produce section of any store and buying what appeals to you.
The lifestyle does not need to be unnecessarily complicated.
Wishing you success on your raw journey!

Just greens aren't too bad. Really. Especailly if you have extra pounds to loose, like ME!

No, I'm underweight at 92 lbs but went down to 90 in one week
my friend who saw me in one week became alarmed at my appearance
I think I have low hydrochloric acid that's why I have feel bloated all the time and that's why I lost weight. I'm thinking i'll stick more to fruits and slowly increase the amount of veggies
I followed my friend to Costco and a farmer's market today and splurged on fruits :) and veggies and it didn't come out as much as I expected
I just finished eating 3 coconuts (at only 0.79 each!) and wish I had more lol
Maybe it's because I didn't have anything to eat for the whole day except that but weird, I don't feel like eating anything else
Buying expensive stuff like goji which I had wanted to try like forever will be a better deterrance from slipping than my conscience, was what I had been thinking. But coming back from grocery shopping I realized I'd rather have a box of mangoes (which I had restrained from buying) than cacao powder :)
But thank you for the sites anyway I'll keep it for future use

Have you tried green smoothies? They're great for increasing hydrochloric acid. Just blend 60% greens and 40% fruit with a bit of water in a blender.
Remember that you need some fat, too! Coconuts and avocados are full of healthy fats. Beyond the produce section, raw nuts and seeds have some fat, too.
Enjoy your yummy fruits/veggies!

I get my stuff at rawguru.com. It's really great, and Alex is very helpful. Free shipping on orders over $100.
Wilderness Family Naturals is good, too.
