I love raw corn tortilla chips but corn is a grain which is very unhealthy and it is among the most dangerous of grains, so I would like to know if anyone has a recipe for a healthy alternative to the raw corn chips?

I'll try to come up with one also.

Thanks

I heard that corn was only considered an unhealthy grain when it is cooked, but when it is raw it is still considered a vegetable... so, if you eat it raw you are supposed to be fine.

Raw or not grains are extemely unhealthy, comparable to smoking. Raw does not mean healthy, many raw foods will cause cancer, diabetes, heart disease, etc. even in their raw state.

Grains are for birds, they are in no way compatible with the human body which is why they cause so much fatal illnesses and cut decades off the lifespan of those who consume them regularly.

What is Alissa's stance on corn? I thought it was ok as long as it is raw.

Victoria Boutenko mentioned eating raw corn I thought... and so do several other raw authors, one of which explicitly stated that cooked corn is considered a starch, where as raw corn is considered a vegetable.

I'm not understanding how consuming raw corn causes cancer?

Alissa's stance on corn is not what has been mentioned here. As it has been said time and time again, there are plenty of arguments in favor of and against just about anything you can think of...even the beloved sprouts! So, you really have to learn to listen to your own body and be your own "guru" when it comes to these things about what raw foods are healthy and what are not.

Raweater, why not just make various types of flax crackers and flavor them with Mexican seasonings? Take any corn chip/tortilla recipe that has flax in it and omit the corn and double up on the flax and have at it! But don't expect it to be anything like a corn chip with no corn. Just stick to flax crackers since you personally do not like doing grains or corn. But please, I beg of you...do not tout things such as "grains are bad" and "corn is bad" because again, this forum is based on Alissa's teachings and she has never taught that those items are bad when eaten raw and there are many other raw food leaders who do not teach that either. Some do and some do not. But here, it's not.

Also, remember that there was a little debate going on not too long ago where someone had the same passionate views against your (beloved) flax seeds as you have against corn and grains! ;) So, can you kinda see my point here about there is always SOME-thing that someone can say against a thing...WITH some sort of research and documentation to back it up and the same in favor of the very same thing(s)? I've seen/heard it ALL before:

grains are bad/grains are good; corn is bad/corn is good; sprouts are toxic/sprouts are very healthful and beneficial; onions and garlic are bad/onions and garlic are great detoxifiers and antibacterials; fruit is bad and causes candida/fruit is good and helps cure candida; kale is bad because it's cruciferious/kale is good; apple seeds are bad because they have cyanide/apple seeds are good and should be ingested and the list goes on and on and ON! It's head-spinning trying to listen to every single person and their views...listen to you own body people!

So, just leave it at, YOU, personally, do not want to incorporate grains and corn and not preach that it is "bad".

Thanks bunches!
