Hi Everyone! I am new to the forum, obviously. I have not tried the raw/living food diet as of yet, but I have been eyeballing it for sometime. My main hold back is my husband, who isn't so open to raw/live foods....not that we don't eat healthy...he is just against the whole organic scenario since he looks at it as a fad...like the Adkins Diet or many others, and part of me can't blame him.

Anyways....after this mornings breakfast, I decided I would start searching for alternative meals to eat for breakfast. All that seems to stick with me are eggs, eggs, and eggs! We are both so tired of eggs....and of the house smelling of eggs after cooking them...lol. So what better time to try and introduce something to my hubby since he is tired of eggs as well. Nothing seems to stick with us as long as eggs well, and it just isn't convenient and sometimes impossible to get a small snack/meal in while at work before lunch. So this is my cry for help....I need something other then eggs! I have tried the Atkins diet....it works, and sticks with me....but I like to have a balance of good carbs and protein. And oatmeal just doesn't cut it for us as well.

My husband has a very sensitive/gassy stomach....so even something like oatmeal will mess him up pretty well if he eats to much of it. We also eat a lot of wild game meat, and that seems to give both of us stomach issues.

Well I hope I haven't given to much info for my introduction...lol. I will stop now before this gets any lengthier. I am really looking forward to learning from everyone on here....and hopefully I can be helped...lol.

Welcome BeccaSmith, this is a great forum and you will learn a lot here. My husband also has a sensitive stomach and severe acid reflux. Amazingly, the raw lifestyle has not bothered him. Yes, we both had gas with the increase of fiber in the raw veggies and fruits but once our systems adjusted to it we are both fine.

I would suggest green smoothies for breakfast. Being liquid they aren't as hard on your system and because you can drink a lot, most people drink 16 oz or more. Just don't drink it too fast. Enjoy it and drink slowly. Keep with it and enjoy a whole new lifestyle. Hope to hear more from you.

You should really try to get Alissa's book and DVD....after you read and watch it you'll really know what the raw lifestyle is all about and how it will work for you. It will also answer all the questions you have and will have. Good Luck and welcome.

Aloha and Welcome to RFT!!! yEp... Alissa's book will answer A LOT of questions and also help you with some food combining. Certain foods will give you more gassey tummy than others - and if you combine foods that well.... don't mix well in your stomach - you might end up with stomach trouble too....

but eggs.... don't they cause a lot of gas anyway and swell up in your tummy http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s43/FireStar_830/1422.gif??? (hmmmm seems I read that somewhere - but i"m not sure) yowza..... I'm glad you're getting away from the eggs! Maybe that alone might help your stomach! ...http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s43/FireStar_830/goodluck.gif

blessings on your journey....
