Just wondering if anyone in Canada (specifically Ontario) has ordered a Vitamix from Alissa's store? Do you know how much the shipping was? When I start to go thru the order process the shipping says 0... which I can't think is correct. Where there customs/brokerage fees involved with the import??

Thanks,
Sandra

yeah... I saw a demo in our Costco about a year ago, and I just called and they won't be back until July/August. Plus the cost is a lot higher. I'm thinking I might order it to a friend in the US and then go pick it up. Anyone in Michigan want to be my ship to lol!!!

OOO - I would also be interested in knowing what the shipping price is. I have a kitchen aid pro-line which was good for a few years, but has developed a problem and the warranty has expired. Have been toying with the idea of buying a vitamix - but they are all SOOOO expensive. I have been meaning to go around to the stores that sell it to check out the prices. I was thinking that with shipping, it is probably cheaper to buy it here. After all, when I bought the kelp noodles, the shipping doubled the price!!!

I ordered the Vita-Mix through Alissa's store,for I believe around $350 US
at the time.
After shipping and handling, and brokerage fees-btw anything ordered from
the U.S shipped by U.P.S will have you paying exorbitant fees.
U.P.S automatically collects brokerage/customs fees each and every time.
If an item is shipped by the U.S postal service, and then transfers to
Canada Post over the border,it's hit and miss, whether you're charged
tax and customs fees-although I've rarely been charged tax and duty having
packages sent this way.
Usually,when I have a choice for shipping,for example when I shop on e-bay
for items sent from the U.S,I pick the U.S postal service, and never U.P.S.
For smaller items such as books,food,supplements,etc-they're usually sent
straight through.
A Vitamix wouldn't likely go unnoticed though.LOL
When all was said and done,I ended up paying almost $600CAD for the Vitamix.
I have friends and family in the U.S,who accept packages for me from time to
time,in order to save $$$$$.
Sorry for the slight rant, but hopefully this info helps some.:)

wow Tepiglet... thanks for the forewarning!!! Sounds like I should just wait a few months and get one of my MI friends to accept the package. We have Golden Retriever get-togethers in the good weather months lol!! It's good to have friends!!!

Yes, I bought the 4500 model a couple of months ago and it is just about the best investment I've ever made. I bought it at "Goodness Me" in Hamilton. I am sure I paid too much for it, but it was worth every penny. It absolutely pulverizes everything within no time at all.:D
