It is more convient to make these in a food processor(which I don't own) or a Vitamix?
Anyone have any good recipe ideas?
Thanks,
Matt

I find that putting nuts or seeds in a Vitamix heats them up way too much. I usually only use my Vitamix for making smoothies or soups. I have a Braun food processor which was only $80 and works like a charm!

I basically use my vitamix for the same things that mel s12 does and I always make my nut pates in the food processor. I got my cuisinart food processor from Costco for 100.00, it even has two bowells that came with it. Before that I had a black and decker and it was great too, it was only around 30.00....I loved that fp and when I got the cuisinart, I have to say that it really is very, very nice. Pates are great!
I use my Vitamix for stuff like that sometimes. I also have a travel blender that works perfectly and is sooooo easy to clean. No matter what, it always feels like less cleaning than the parts of the food processor. Anything I can do to get the same thing with less cleaning.
I do tend to agree that it can heat the food up, so I don't just run it continually. I let it blend for a few seconds then move everything around and repeat until it's good.
