Hi everyone, I am a midwesterner, from IA. We recently started seeing a chiropractor and he is one of the good ones. He is very health conscience but isn't pushy.

He is trying to help educate his patients about healthier lifestyles and part of that for me is getting nutrients due to a health condition called Interstitial Cystitis. www.ic-network.com for more information and the many problems I have with diet due to the diet limitations with this illness.

He mentioned the other day about juicing a certain bunch of stuff, he said it would be alkaline but yet get me some good nutrients. So that is how I got to this website to do some educating of myself in this.

I know nothing about this "juicing" concept. I have to stay away from citrus and acidity foods so I just haven't paid much attention to this over the years.

Well I want to know more about it now. I am almost 50, would like to lose 25-30 pounds. Struggle to get the weight off again, due to some of the limitations and restrictions with my diet.

I am also wondering if problems I have for instance when I eat broccoli almost doubling me over with gas, would I have that same trouble if it is in juice form?

I just want to learn all I can about this.
I look forward to being here.

Jo

I too would recommend that you get Alissa's Book and DVD....after going through them you'll REALLY know what your doing and have a better idea how it will work for you and your situation. Alissa also does consultations if the book doesn't cover what you need but even then I'd be sure to read her book before going to a consultation with her. Good luck.

Great questions. I've never tried broccoli juice. I don't enjoy broccoli very much in general. Juicing is wonderful though, especially with nutrient dense alkaline foods like kale, that's my favorite. I juice it with carrot and ginger usually. Sometimes I add beets.

The raw food lifestyle is very healing & and nutritious! Best wishes on your journey!!
