I've seen so many posts about the elusive durian fruit, never thought I'd find it in my little rural town! There it was, frozen, in a yellow box from CHINA! I have it, but I'm a little scared to eat it...Don't trust much of anything from China these days. I took a little bite- it was really good. I'm waiting to see if anything happens to me before I eat the rest! :p

I was talking to a friend who tried frozen durian, and she didn't notice a strong smell??? Is the frozen stuff less "toxic" smelling?
Because when it's fresh, it really packs a punch!

Well, I did notice a "sulfur" type of smell, kinda like rotten eggs, but I only had a small piece, so it wasn't that bad! I wasn't worried about the durian, I was worried about it coming from China! But as my son pointed out to me, about 85% of our stuff comes from China, so I decided to get over it and am defrosting some for dessert!
