Did anyone see 'Horizon' last night on BBC2? It was about Professor Regan, a doctor, who was 'finding out' about whether fruit/veggies, organic, etc., was really good for you. I get so annoyed at the one sided attitude of these people. Her findings were that they were not especially good for you and that organic was not better than conventionally produced crops. She only went on about the nutrition and not the pesticides. One person even said that the pesticide residue was only a small fraction, and so wouldn't do us any harm. They tested a lot of healthy people on the veg and found that their vitamin and mineral content wasn't any better than before they started the 3 week trial. This doctor started the programme with a patronizing tone of voice so I knew it wasn't going anywhere. She agreed that Benecol reduces cholesterol, but no-one mentioned that sterols come from plants and that if we eat lots of fruit and veggies, we would get these sterols. To me, it was a typical example of a doctors attitude to natural healing and nutrition. She even said that why should she take a food which would reduce cholesterol when she could take a pill. What do you think? (as if I didn't know already:rolleyes: )

Let the masses be swayed. We know how we feel and they are just wrong! Also, that arguement does not take into consideration the effects of industrial/ chemical farming on the earth or the effects of pesticides and herbicides on our health. It is just crazy how people will cling to a dangerous system when it only takes common sense to see that we are killing our earth and ourselves! Thank you for sharing!
