Linseed/Flaxseed Gold or Brown?

Hey, does anyone know the difference between gold and brown flaxseed (other than the colour!)?

I take it these are raw, even if not stated.

golden is the preferred for most recipes unless brown is stated.
golden has a milder flavor, brown in my experience is very bitter tasting... other than that I believe they are nutritionally the same.
Go with golden.

Some say that the golden ones are slightly more nutritious and taste better.I often use the brown ones because that is what I can get at my coop, and I think they are fine. I do believe that they all are generally raw.
