Hello there rawbies! My name is Gabrielle. I'm 21 (alomst 22) years old and I have just recently decided to go RAW! I'm on day 3 of the diet and I'm really excited. It's a little scary cause I've battled with over eating my entire life. Always found solice in food for some reason. And naturally, I get it the most with the foods that are really bad for you. This ofcourse has resulted in my being over weight. It's gotten to the point that I have absolutely no self confidence and it really takes a toll on my day to day life.
My boyfriend approached me with the IDEA as he is wanting to try a healthier approach to eating. Decided that it's worth a try as I've tried many other things already, and that it would also help him by getting rid of everything not raw to ease temptation. His father and his father wife have been raw for about 5 months now and are loving it. She even went and took Alissas "cooking" class and is now planning on teacher raw classes herself. Having them to guide us is an amazing priviledge. They were so excited when we said we were going raw that they got us our food processor, dehydrator, a copy of Alissa's book/DVD and are even purchasing us a VitaMix (I believe that's what it's called). I'm a little scared because I have a fear of spending money (debt freaks the hell out of me), and after my first shopping trip I noticed that a lot of things such as raw nuts, oils, etc are rather expensive. However this is a learning process, so I'm sure I'll find some ways to still get what I need while not spending copious amounts of cash.
I'm hoping with the support of my boyfriend and his family that I will be able to stick to this and live a life that I fully enjoy. Luckily I'm a big net rat, so I'll be stopping by here often for advice and so on.
Go raw!
*cheers*
