Hi there,
Just want to check in to see if anyone has been diagnosed with Adrenal Fatigue Syndrome. I was diagnosed in early Feb. by way of a blood test. I have been raw for 25 days now and on my way to my next months challenge. So thought I would shout out to the board to find out if anyone else has these issues. I have been extremely lethargic but for the first time an listening to my body and resting a lot. I went raw because I felt it was the right thing to do. I do have times where I do feel much better but am still dealing with fatigue in a huge way. So any of you have any experience with this can you please respond. How long on raw before you began to see REAL results regarding energy? I had my first colonic hydrotherapy today and I am scheduled for another.
Any ideas or advice please post.
Thanks,
Kim:o

HI!!!

I live in Singapore also!! Yeah, someone on this side of the world, how fun!

Okay, sorry, had to get that out. :o

Yes, I was diagnosed with Adrenal Fatigue, Hypothyroid and Leaky Gut last Feb. And I just got back from the Drs today with my test results.
Drum roll please............I am back to "normal"!!!

I have been at least 75% since August. My adrenal fatigue and Leaky gut are/were pretty severe, and I am breastfeeding my 4th little one, so it has taken longer, I am sure, because of that factor. I think if you are all raw, you should be feeling better quite soon! If you would like to talk about it more, feel free to email me!

Hey girl ~ raw did not help my adrenal fatigue but it was because I was really eating too much fat (according to Dr. Doug Graham). Fat is taxing on the adrenals and once I switched to more fruit and veggies and was not exsisting on nuts my adrenal fatigue improved greatly. And I was literally LIVING on nuts and seeds. Best of luck to you.... it is a tough journey but the healing is amazing.

Dear Rawfoodtalk friends,
Thanks so much for your responses to my plea for info and advice. I have been more tired this week than I can remember. Again, I've just started to listen to my body so I may have been this tired just not paid attention. I am trying several different treatments...all natural holistic remedy's. In my past I've always been content to just take a pill or a shot. So this method is new to me. I have seen so many improvements with raw but am growing a bit impatient with the lethargy. I did take a look at my blood work results last night an noticed yet another hormone is very low. The day the Dr. delivered all this news to me I believe their was a lot to report and take in. As far as I know this particular hormone deficiency isn't being addressed with supplements or cream so may try to pop in today to see her.
Thanks for your support. It's nice to know I am not the only one.

Dear four4me: Thanks for your encouragement in reporting your results. I am thrilled for you to be on the other side of this. I would love to give you a call at some point and chat for a minute. I am also thrilled to know you are in Singapore. 4 Children...I know you are busy so no rush. I have three kids but my youngest is almost 16 and a Sophmore at SAS. I have a son Junior at SAS and a son in US at University. We live in the Leonie Hill area.

Snowdrop: Thanks also for your info. I am under the impression that it does take a lot of time to heal from this. I've already experienced healing in other areas of my body so think I am on the right path with raw. With the hormone imbalances I am retaining fat more than I want too but also realize that isn't due to my behavior and just an imbalance. Thanks for sharing.

Justinesmith: Thanks so much for the advice on nuts and fats. I had no idea....I love nuts, seeds and avocados. How did you fare with protein...just eat a boatload of greens. This Dr. Graham...is he your local Dr or has he written a book or published research? Thanks for the info. All of my relatives are from So. GA but I was raised in FL.

HAVE ANY OF YOU READ ANY GOOD BOOKS ON ADDRENAL FATIGUE SUPPORT? In Singapore we have several large bookstores so I can get or order most anything I need.
Have a great day,
Kim:)

Kim,
Sorry to hear things are so difficult for you right now. There is hope, it will get better, but you are right, it takes time. I live on the east coast across from the indoor stadium, Tanjong Rhu Rd. My email is singwilsons@yahoo.com. Drop me an email and we can hook up sometime. I have a great Dr and a book you could borrow if interested. It's called Adrenal Fatigue the 21st century syndrome. Great book!!!
And, I am actually not that busy now that 3 of the 4 kiddos are in school so I would love to meet up with you sometime.
Oh, I also just found a Singaporean guy who is starting up a raw foods "learning center" here in SG, isn't that so great! I was very excited to learn this last night.
Ok, a little off topic sorry. Have a great day, and get some well needed rest.

Dear 4forme,
Thanks for your quick response...guess we may be the only ones up now...since it's middle of the night in other parts of the world.

Ok, great news on the raw learning center. Let me know when you figure it out. I am using a raw food coach here...she lives out in Sembawang and is also and RN. I have other issues as well so I didn't think I could "chomp" off on this raw lifestyle without an expert. She has been great. I just started Feb. 1st and have pockets of well being which is more than I use to have on the SAD diet. Also my Dr. seems to know what she's talking about. I stopped in to see her today and review my supplements. I have lost 14 lbs since beginning and that will help with my other issues....but am finding out that some foods even raw are not healthy for an Adrenal fatigue girl like myself. I just went to Takashimiya today and picked up the Adrenal Fatigue book you mentioned. I am hoping that will give me some much needed detail to fill in the gaps of my current knowledge.
I will plan on emailing you next week to see if we can set up a meet up. Is their a day in your week that you come into Orchard, Tanglin or Great World area? Don't know if you've tried to new restaurant at Tanglin mall that serves raw items as well as other foods.
Anyway, Will be in touch next week.
My email is chinagirlkim@mac.com
My family lived in China for six years so although my address looks like I am chinese I am not. That might help you to narrow down the strangers in a meet up. .....so anyway. Have a great day and thanks for your encouragement.:)
