Has anyone else done this or fasted in conjunction with quitting smoking?

I am in the throes of serious headache at the moment. It makes the fast easier, for sure.

yes, I quit smoking on the master cleanse. It was weird how you don't really feel the withdraw symptoms; the main thing you have to deal with is that habitual physical addiction of bringing the cigarette to your mouth. But still that isn't bad because you are constantly drinking the lemonade. I found it helped me to drink the lemonade from a straw and sort of got that oral fixation satisfied by doing it that way.

wow, amy, thanks for replying!

I am not having any of my usual MC cravings for food, all mine seem to be cigarette triggers/cravings. I can manage them, though.

Did you gain any weight after quitting smoking, as people typically do after?

Did you find that the MC helped in that aspect... or???

I am so happy to be on day 2 of both the mc and the quit. If I didn't have my blog, I don't think I could get thru this.

Yeah, the MC does help in the weight loss department even after quitting smoking. I still lost several pounds on my first 8 day MC.

It really helps me to have a journal going during the Master Cleanse. THe first thing I did was write down WHY I am doing it and what my goals are. This helps when I get further along, as I can go back and remember why I'm doing it. It has helped me immensely. I guess this would now be day 3 for you, miaculpa, many congratulations to you on your third day! This is day 3 for me as well. I'm feeling extremely flighty, scatterbrained yet clearminded and positive, and so much energy I almost feel jittery. I am hoping this doesn't last long.

How are YOU feeling?

CONGRATS on your third day, too!

(I've been blogging about my MC on here, click my name if you'd like)

I've had some serious detox issues with the triple whammy of period/MC/nicotine withdrawals today. My mind has been RACING and my body... well, my body has been racing to the toilet, mostly. LOL. It is like I can feel the body is tired, would LOVE to sleep (and I did, til almost 2 pm), but my mind is going a zillion miles an hour.

I agree with the keeping a journal/blog throughout this. I could not survive this without it.

HUGS!

Hi OAI!

Ive been blogging every minute on here... click my name to view, if you'd like.

Quitting smoking while on the MC isn't difficult once you pass the three first days. Of course, I started during my menstrual cycle, so the cramps are now overtaking the desire to eat AND smoke. I read somewhere that a woman who decides to quit during her monthly has a better chance of succeeding.
