Is all cocao nibs and powder raw? Do I find it in the health food store? Is there anyhting I should look for or ask for? I am in desperate need of something chocolate but I'm stumped with this one.
Thanks for your help!

nope, they're not all raw. it should clearly state on the package that it is raw. if it's not raw, it'll probably say "roasted." some health food stores carry cacao products from sunfood-i'd specifically ask if they carry that brand.
hope this helps!

Almost all cacao powder is cooked (not intentionally, but because the grinding process generates enough heat to cook it), cacao powder must be labelled raw, otherwise it's not.
For cacao nibs, I would assume they are all raw but with all these stupid pasteurization things we never know.
It should say raw for both cacao powder and nibs, but I sometimes go for regular cooked cacao if I can't afford to order raw cacao powder online. I find nibs at my health food store but not raw cacao powder.
