Stevia Fruity Lemonade

2 Organic Lemons, juiced
2 T. Powdered Stevia Extract ("Now" is the brand I use)
2 Quarts filter or charged water

Juice lemons and put into a 2 quart pitcher. Add one quart water and the Stevia. Mix
well to dissolve Stevia. Add remaining water to make 2 quarts.

Note; you can "charge" water by letting it sit overnight, or out in the sun.

Stevia: "Sweet Leaf" brand makes a liquid "lemon drop" flavored stevia. if you decide to use that, try using 3-4 drops and then adjust to taste.

This is a really sweet lemonade, so you may want to add a t. at a time of stevia powder to your taste. Since I pour this over ice, I use 2 T. to cut the sourness of the lemon juice. You may prefer a tart taste, so adjust accordingly.

Tea: Sometimes I make flavored lemonade by adding herbal tea infusions.
simply brew your flavored tea of choice ( mine is Strawberry, cherry, and orange. It's made by Celestial Seasonings) then add lemonade to taste. Pour over ice. Oh, so refreshing and great for diabetics!!

This is a good recipie for someone who HAS to watch their sugars, like myself (at least for the time being). If you don't have a concern with sugars, you can blend your choice of fresh fruit (strawberries, cherries, ect) into the lemonade, or juice them first before adding to the lemonade.

Enjoy. Compliments of Yamiam

Are you talking about white refined stevia or natural green stevia powder? I only use the green powder. Also, 2 tablespoons of stevia is equal to like 15 cups of sugar (1/4 teaspoon white refined stevia=1 cup of sugar), are you sure you got that measure right? 15 cups of sugar in 2 quarts is extreme.

I use the refined white powdered.
You may use green if you prefer
I don't like green, it's too bitter.

Yes. 2 T. it is!! I don't belive it's 15 cups worth of sugar, though. I wouldn't be able to drink that much sugar, but with stevia, 2 T. is just right.

like I said, I've got a sweet tooth. THis is why I say to adjust to individual tastes.

Everyone is different.

I don't find the green one bitter at all, I think I find the white one much more bitter. It's also important to understand the white one is not natural and is the same as refined white sugar, of course you need a lot less so the damage is minimized, but there are still health issues associated with refined/unnatural stevia, so I prefer to use the green as much as possible, it's the only sweetener I use in smoothies, but it doesn't work everywhere.

I dissage with you 100 percent. White stevia is NOT in any way the same as white sugar... I don't know where you are getting your information, but you are way off on that one. Sorry to sound aburpt, but it's the truth.

If so, did you get it from the book Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison?
