What can I use instead of whey?

I want to make fermented pineapple chutney and the recipe calls for whey. What can I use instead?

Try Rejuvelac....It is make from Winter Wheat Grains that you let ferment in water, strain and drink.......

Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately I have celiac and cannot use wheat. I may just experiment with coconut.
