Hi All

I just finished the MC, but at Day 6 because I was detoxing very hard...I almost passed out while driving. So I decided to do raw. Although it should be simple to eat fruits and vegetables..I feel overwhelmed and anxious about it all.

I even had a slice a pizza today because I had a salt craving. Now I'm drinking my detox tea and doing a salt water flush in the morning to get rid of it.

The reason I want to go raw is for health and to advoid family history. Two of my aunts have had battles with cancer ( one use raw to beat it), my mother has glacoma, my grandmother and an uncle suffered a stroke in the past two years and I've had numerous health issues growing up. I'm have a rather weak immmune system and tend to get sick. I've also gained about 50-60 between two pregnancies ( which result in second semester miscarriages) in a 2 year span. I gained so much weight by binging on fried chicken, pringles, and french fries.

I'm use to be an athlete and professional dancer. I miss the lightness and energy levels of my former self. I must admit that even then I didn't eat well. I just usually ate less foods as I didn't have much of an appetite, however I tended to eat a heavy two meals a day which I guess meet my calorie needs for the day.

I guess my plan right now after my detox tea and flush is to try juicing and smoothies for a while. I want to see how my body reacts to this. One because it's simple and two because it cheap...lo I'm a college student on a budget.

Am: MC drink: lemonade/maple syrup and cayenne

Lunch: green smoothie or soup

PM: green smoothie or soup
Snacks: easly digestible fruit like, soft fruits. Maybe a luna bar or avocado hear and there.

Also I crave salty crunchy things, any suggestions for raw foods that might help or what this means in terms of mineral or vitamin deficiencies?

I'm looking forward to the support and the membership of this community. I also plan to buy Alissa's books soon.

For salty things you could eat or juice celery. I love carrot/celery juice :) Seaweeds also might help. Are you avoiding sea salt?

I have the sea salt. I kind of afraid to use it. When I was doing the master cleanse, the flushes made me bloated. I think I was retaining the salt. I hadto follow it with another liter of water in order to get the right flush affects.

Hey Mitea, how's it going now? I'm on the obese thread, so I could ask over there but I was doing my welcomes today!:p

Try these breadstix for salty and crunchy! They are super good. I love the spicy best, but hubby loves the rye ones too. Haven't tried the garlic yet.

I'm very sorry for your losses. ((hugs)) I went through 2 last year, and they were just 6 and 7 weeks along. I cannot imagine the pain you have experienced through your miscarriages. :(

I've spent the last 6 months trying to heal my body & heart. I hope the raw food lifestyle does the same for you. Much love & many blessings.:)

The raw food is a good way to detox more slowly. That was actually how I got turned on to raw. I wanted to do the MC with my husband, but my doctor told me I couldn't yet. He told me to eat only raw foods for at least a few weeks first. The main reason is because I have more than 100 pounds of weight to lose and most of our toxins are stored in our fat, so if I lost fat too quickly I could get really sick. Raw has been awesome though! I'm detoxing, releasing unwanted pounds and feeling healthier and more energetic everyday. You will do great too. Best of luck.
