Hi, everyone,
My name is Linda. I live in the San Francisco bay area. I have been a vegetarian/vegan most of my life. I have been vegan again since November of 2007, and I am now looking forward to becoming 100% raw.
I have been on a healing journey since 2002 when I started a holistic and natural path to healing from and/or managing fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue and immune dysfunction syndrome, candida, and multiple chemical sensitivities.
I'm looking forward to the arrival of Alissa's book. I received the DVD last week, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I have a few other raw foods books. Since I have candida and fruit is an issue for me, I have mostly been using Rainbow Green Live-Food Cuisine, the Phase 1 recipes.
I'm very interested in learning from and connecting with all of you.
Linda

Hi, Welcome. I am also in N. Ca. Back when I was in college, I had severe pain from fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. The things that helped the most was to stop drinking caffine. I also drank 2-4 ounces of wheatgrass juice a day and a blend of carrots, apple, parsley, beets, ginger, etc. After about a year of the juices the pain left. The Chemical sensitivities for me left after about 4-6 months of being raw. Best of luck healing.

Hi Linda:
I'm a native San Franciscan, just back from living in Seattle for six years. I'm new to the raw foods lifestyle too. If I hear about any cool events or new raw restaurants around the City, I'll let you know. Can you do the same?

Time2bloom4me: Thanks for your post and words of inspiration. I'm so glad to hear that you have healed yourself from the same health challenges I am experiencing. I have been drinking wheatgrass juice daily for a couple of months now. I started out having one ounce twice a day, then increasing to two ounces once a day. I started having pretty severe detox symptoms, so today is my first day not having any wheatgrass at all. I feel so much better today by not having any. I'll need to increase more slowly. I also am juicing daily and it is usually a blend of spinach, celery, cucumber and lemon. Parsley and ginger would be great additions. I'll have to try adding those, too. I don't have any caffeine. Sounds like I am on the right track. Did you go through detox symptoms with the wheatgrass, too? If you don't mind saying, whereabouts are you located? Thanks again.
CeleryKiller: Welcome to the raw food world to you. I wish you much success in becoming raw. I'll be sure to let you know if I hear of any events and happy that you will do the same.
spicyfull: Thanks for the welcoming greeting. How long have you been RAW?
