I like larabars and thinkorganic bars but they are so expensive and I'm sure can easily be made at home.
My last attempt I realised I was out of limes (lime larabar is my favorite) and used oranges and it turned out horrible, strangely enough everyone else that tried them said they loved them, but I can't tolerate them.
Does anyone have a recipe to make our own energy bars, preferably similar to larabars or thinkorganic bars (both pretty much the same)?
Thanks

i didn't know larabar made a lime bar! i love the lemon one and have mimiced it in the past. i believe i just threw together some dates, walnuts, shredded coconut, lemon juice, and some grated lemon rind. (sorry i usually just wing it, so no measurments).
i really loved how they turned out! so much more economical than buying the bars!

I make energy bars all the time but I never use a recipe, you just need to blend equal parts dried fruit with dry ingredients like nuts.
This is one I use a lot, it tastes like gingerbread.
1/2 cup dates
1/2 cup dried apricots
1 cup walnuts
mixed spice/cinnamon
Just process together, press into a container, place in the fridge and cut into bars.
I often add stuff like bee pollen or cacao nibs depending on what I have on hand. And I often use sunflower or pumpkin seeds instead of nuts to cut back on the cost.

I have never made bars, but there is rhis pudding recipe that really made me think of the lime bars.
1 cup pitted dates
1 avacado
Juice of three lemons
Agave or honey to sweeten as desired
Blend into pudding like consistency and sprinkle chopped nuts on top for a pie like feel. YOu could probably use limes instead of lemons too!

Thanks for the ideas, I will be trying some. I also just posted a thread of energy bars I made based on mature coconut meat, I made lime ones and chocolat mint ones, both are awesome before dehydrating, they're dehydrating now.
