Hey! I'm reading alissa's book, and have a quick question.

Alissa says to do food prep 2 days a week to start off, and lists the recipes to make in week 1. well for the frozen bananas, does she mean to actually blend them up ready, and then put them back in the freezer as ice-cream?

I couldn#t work out if the food prep is actually making the meals ready to eat and then freezing, fridging until ready?

Thanks muchly, River.

When I make the banana ice cream, I freeze the bananas, make them into ice cream when they are frozen solid, and eat it right after making it. I don't know how well it would work to blend the bananas and then freeze them. With the meals that Alissa says to make ahead, she means to prepare them and refrigerate them until you're ready to eat them. Some meals are better prepared right before eating, but many can be made and kept in the fridge for whenever you feel like eating them. I'm not sure how long all of them last in the fridge though. In Alissa's DVDs, she says that she never freezes any of the meals because they don't taste good after they've been frozen. Hope this helps!

Be well,

Francesca

Yes I agree. When I make banana ice cream, the prep time is simply getting the bananas RIPE....and then freezing them into chunks, they are now ready to make ice cream with when you are ready to eat it.:D

i think you are best off prepping the food, eating left overs for a few days and then prepping again. just work with your schedule - some days you have time, some days you don't.

personally i don't freeze anything except fruit - stuff tastes odd to me. but do try it to see how it works for you. some people swear by making and then freezing big batches of flax crackers.

and remember...don't over think it...enjoy the food!

Try keeping LOTS of Fresh hand Food around, Fruit, Nuts etc. for the times when you have NO time to Prep. The Longer you are RAW the easier it will be. Above All "RAW" will work it out for you.
