My husband brought it home a few weeks ago, he ended up with bronchial pneumonia. I got it, had the bad fever, etc. for a few days, but I was pleasantly surprised how quickly I recovered. Considering the other health issues I'm dealing with, and taking prednisone, I faired pretty well. I'm raw, he's not.

Well done Lavendula. Keep it up. What about the flare up. Did it happen or was it smallish. After my flu and taking white willow bark and boswellia, my flare up was minimal. ;) :) :)

Thank you for asking, still dealing with it and try to get back to juicing, etc. I've been using alot of curry powder, crushed red chilies, and tons of onions. I am still so, so, cold internally right now I can't bring myself to eat the raw foods I really crave, but I don't want the cooked food either. Eating cooked food causes acid burning for me, and I always do feel better digestion and elimination wise on a high raw. I'm a bit of a mess with what to eat lately. How are you doing with the RA and raw yourself? How high raw have you been, and how has it affected your internal temperature? I am wondering if howit has affected me is unique to me. Has your winter been unrelenting, bitter cold as ours in the Midwest U.S., and how has raw in winter been for you?

The willow bark and the Boswellia are wonderful. I didn't get a tummy upset from the willow bark at all. My flareup is minimal, but my neck hurts badly and my tongue keeps going tight. This will clear up when my neck stops hurting. We have 'discovered'' the joy of drinking our greens in a smoothie with a banana each day plus our juices. We are about 35 - 45% raw at the moment. We have been eating cooked vegan food once a day for the comfort and warmth. I do get cold when just eat raw, so Bob says we should eat a hot meal a day till I can get my health under control. There is always summer to go total raw. I get quite hot and I don't know what causes it. I don't know if the type of food we eat causes it or the R.A. The weather here has been a mixture of spring and winter weather, all through the winter. We avoided the snow, which is a good thing. I can't say that there has been too much damp. Now I have found a 'pastry' which I cook slowly at 40 degrees in my oven, I have started experimenting with raw fillings for quiches.

My entire family was down for a week, and despite being in very close quarters with them and sharing water/germs/ everything, I only got the sniffles! Mind, I was really sleepy for one day....but compared to the barfing and awful coughing that they had, mine was a BREEZE.

These replies give me hope. I shall try harder to 'do' raw as whenever a germ sees me coming along it sticks out it's arm and yells "TAXI". I have had a lot of passengers in recent years.:o :)

This years flu is supposed to be the worst ever, there was just a touch of the intestinal part with it. Was anyone able to eat raw or, eat at all during the worst of it. All we had for several days was a little applesauce. I could barely get around to get a drink of water, because of the fever, dizziness and nausea. I let the fever run for the most part and just took painrelievers for the hurt all over.

I still have it. Hubby too. And we've been 100% raw, no exceptions, for 6 months now. I was going to post a thread about it. I'm very disappointed actually!

We caught it from my sister and her kids, all SAD eaters. My kids are about 96% raw if I put a number on it, and the other 4% is cooked vegan, no junk whatsoever.

And we're just as sick as they are. We've stayed entirely raw during the flu as well, although our appetites are very low. Today is day 7 for me & I'm telling you, I have been OUT of commission, as well as my kids. Hubby had a fever for a couple days like me. It's just crazy. Why are we so sick?

I don't think eating raw food will stop a virus attacking you, just how you cope and heal. Awhile ago, my husband got a terrible flu, first, before me. I drank colloidal silver at 1 hourly intervals during the day, also, 6 cups of olive leaf tea  a day, plus origano oil. I got the flu, but not nearly as bad as Bob had it. This year, I was unorganised and never took the olive leaf tea, just the colloidal silver and I got the flu. But it didn't get as bad as I thought it would. I had 4 bad days though.:)

Good points Blix. I just thought we would at least have an easier time of it, but we really haven't. My sister and I compare notes daily & I'm surprised at how we're all experiencing the same things, at the about the same intensity.
