Hi all,
My family is hoping to adopt a baby. We already have a 4 yr old daughter.
I had a thought last night of how great it would be to find someone raw and pregnant who is looking to give their baby up for adoption. I could see both how someone raw who doesn't want a baby would want their baby to have a healthy life with another raw food family, and how I would prefer a raw birth mother for the baby. Although when I was pregnant with my daughter I ate a SAD diet, I shudder to think of adopting from a mom who doesn't know or care.
I'll admit, I'm not 100% raw at this moment in time (I'm about 90%). It's my goal though. Our daughter has been raised vegan the last 3 years of her life and is thriving.
If anyone knows someone, we would pay pregnancy/birth expenses and then some.
Oh, and I hope to breastfeed the adopted baby to give it the best start possible. We live in upstate NY.
Peace,
Leah

As an adoptive mom of two, I just want to encourage you to be as open as possible to any baby you might be able to help. As much as all of us want to raise perfectly nourished little infants, maybe a less-than-perfect baby needs a mom as caring and knowledgable as YOU. You can make a huge difference in a child's health at any age, and if you can breastfeed, too then wow.

Our first son is white and we adopted at birth from healthy birthparents eating SAD and a little alcohol. He is "perfect" and I raised him on raw grassfed homemade formula as found in "Nourishing Traditions" (my children are not vegan in that we use a local Amish family for raw milk and eggs and also we use cod liver oil). He is now 2 and speaks in full sentences and loves life.

Our second son is black and his birthmom also chose life for him and chose our family. He was exposed in the womb to SAD and Marijuana and nicotine, is also now "perfect" and he was 6 weeks when we got him. He detoxed on raw formula and the nursery smelled like MJ for about 48 hours :-) but he is a wonderful one-year-old now and we know we were meant to have him.

Next we want a black or mixed girl or maybe two! If you have Bethany in you area, I highly recommend them for adoptions, and check to see if you or your husband's company reimburses expenses because my husband's pays most of it (plus there are great tax benefits to adoption)

Adoption is so beautiful! God bless you for wanting another baby to love.
