I think this is the LAST time I will ever see my Dr. again!!

I am SO upset right now, and feeling more depressed then ever about what he said to me, maybe someone can help?

I am 44. This shouldn't matter to the Raw Food Community, but, apparrently, it does to this quack. He said that my arthritis will only get worse and worse. He said it is inevitable for people my age to start getting degenerative diseases. I told him my foot was painful to walk on due to a little arthritis. Do you know what he said to me??

Here. It. Is.

He said, " well, there is nothing I can do about your pain, and it will get worse, not better at your age. So, my suggestion to you would be to eaither deal with the pain, or snuff yourself out".

What??? OMG, I STILL can't believe this.

What??? I feel really confused.

Are there any holistic treatments for this condition? Will raw food help to make it go away?

I am so upset. Why would a Doctor say something like this??

Thanks for reading my long post.

Are you raw yet?? That should help. No need to "snuff yourself out" or deal with the pain for too long. :)

I had terrible arthritis in my hands before going raw. After a couple weeks at 100%, it was completely gone.

Forgive them for they know not what they say!! Doctor's are not trained in nutrition and they don't have answers.
A raw diet will go a long way to help if not eradicate your arthritis. It did for me and many others.

thank you, Eva, raw butterfly, lifeagift and belladonna.

The thing IS is that I HAVE been raw for a year now.

I do forgive him, ( I LOVE that saying, btw!) thanks for the gentle reminder!

What I can't believe is that a doctor would suggest such a thing when he is supposed to be helping a person. Ya know what I mean or am i the giddy one here?

love,
yamiam

That's professionally unacceptable conduct. You need to seriously report that.

That's great that you've been raw for over a year!!! Have you seen the arthritis improve during that time??

Not to minimize problems that people face, but I truly believe there is always something natural or some sort of life change that can help...

Have you regularly/repeated tried:

rebounding (to improve your lymph nodes' activity)?
Swimming regularly? (increase circulation without harming joints)
Drinking more water?
Pineapple juice regularly? (should help with pain supposedly)
Hot/Cold showers, Oil pulling, Green smoothies, juicing, dry skin brushing?<---- all help with circulation and detox

This is all I can think of off the top of my head... but I just know you can help this problem without the doctor. I thank God every day that doctors were around for me to be rushed to the hospital when I was lifeless in the middle of the road and unconscious after a horrific accident. I thank them because I can walk after my leg was broken so badly, ETC. Etc, etc... For anything else, however, I can't imagine that a doctor could help me better than I could help myself! There is always something I can do to improve my own condition.

And Stina, I have to agree. That's pretty inappropriate.

That's professionally unacceptable conduct. You need to seriously report that.

**SECONDED**!

THEN pray for the guy.

Wow...can you do something beautiful and ritualistic to release the energy of his remarks? Like get a nice new smudge stick and smudge yourself? Light a candle and say a prayer for yourself? Put your hand over your heart and send yourself love? have some really hot sex and forget about it? LOL.

Geez, these doctors...

BTW, I'm 44, too, and my doc, who I call "doc" but who is actually a nurse practitioner (and thus tries harder and is more conscientious and collaborative, in my opinion) whipped out the list of high-calcium foods I'll need to start chowing down on, 'cause you know, osteoporosis is right around the corner for me....;) She's great in some ways, yet I do see how being too plugged in to allopathic medicine promotes *such* fear. It's ridiculous.

Don't dwell in the fear.

Thanks, Eva, stina and Raw Sweetie!

Well I guess I SHOULD report him, but will I? Hum. Don't know. Guess it would be a good idea because if I were just a little bit depressed when I went into his office in the first place, I may just have followed through with his "prescription". Thank God I don't suffer with REAL depression. If I really DID snuff myself out, it would be his fault and it would be too late for me. Maybe it could be too much to hear for his next 'victim', however.

Do something good and forget the fear....

they can't help it. its what they SEE, day in and day out, that is their experience. people don't get better, they get worse. and the allopaths are so bought in to their system, they don't realize that it might be the system itself that is causing the degeneration. instead, they call it "natural progression".

you can accept that diagnosis or not. i don't think you do. i don't.

(what type of arthritis do you have btw? just curious.)

REPORT HIM:mad: What sort of arthritis did he say you had. There are over 100 different sorts. Get yourself diagnosed as to which one you have. There are loads of things you can do to help yourself. Doctors are intelligent but can be as thick as two short planks.:)

Get a bottle of magnesium oil from thebestfoodever.com and spray it on & rub it in. Does wonders for my mom. Also read up on DMSO. A zapper will help lots as well. YOU CAN HEAL THIS, you just have a stubborn case that requires a little more then just going raw.

Maui Butterfly, blix and rawveganmom, Thanks!

Butterfly, Oh, it's so sad some doctors are negative, but it's so true, its really NOT their fault.
It's just too bad, that's all. butterfly, I don't accept it, I am feeling so much better now. The arthritis I have is some really long word and I can't remember the easy word for it...oh, wait.. bursitis with heel spurs. That's it.

Blix, as thick as planks, LOL!! I KNOW what you mean, and I did report him, btw. What you said made me laugh, tee hee.

rawveganmom, I am sure that would help the bursitis, but the heel spurs? OUCH, them guys pack a punch.

Just hoping going raw will dissolve this situation. We shall see, I suppose.

Thank goodness for this forum. You all are great ;)

Few years ago i had very similar response from my doctor - i wasn't as upset as you are because i believe in it - my doc and i - we didn't know any better. Every Summer my pain was worse and i accepted the fate. Even when i started raw i didn't believe it will help me to elevate the pain - maybe slow down the progress.... During my first raw attempt in 2005 for 9 months my elbows and feet stop aching! I don't even think about it anymore - i wonder if i should go to the doc and ask her why i don't feel the pain now... i think it is better to be relaxed, consistent, methodic and progressing with the detoxification and observe how it helps you with your problems. Some people treat thyroids and diabetes and improve their vision - some don't but all of them feel somehow better - so prove your doc wrong!!! Embarass him and educate after your symptoms disapear!

thanks, Vivafree!!

This is what I am thinking, too.

Just today, I went to another doctor, who said it was NOT arthritis (bursitis) and that this thing is curable :p

what??? LOL. I believe her. OH, and, there is always hope, btw!!

Now, with that in mind, when it is better, guess who I'll "accidently" run into in church??? I'll give you five guesses!

Thanks all, for your concern,

love,

Go to www.earthclinic.com/CURES/bone-spur It talks about apple cider vinegar getting rid of bone spurs. Also, Boswellia and white willow bark are excellent for inflammation.:)

This is sort of off-topic but, do you know that arthritis, just as any "dis-ease" is just a series of symptoms someone gives a name to to make people feel better? Ohhhhhh, NOW I know what I have!!! Oh yayyyy! My dis-ease is REAL! It's got a name!

Not to say the pain is not real yet TO say, focus on health, what DOESN'T hurt! What feels good!!!! Give your whole self love and appreciation. Feed it joy along with good (great?) food and whatever movement you can do. Enjoy warm baths. Give yourself foot rubs and body scrubs.

You can also do sentence completions and ask your body what it needs. Why is part of it in pain? What can you do for that part? What does it want?

thanks, Revvell!

I think positive
when the pain is there
I feel it
really feel it
telling me
to loose weight
it cannot bear.
