I'm just starting my 4th week and yesterday my legs hurt really bad after a full day of preparing food in the kitchen, cleaning the house and going to three different grocery stores. I laid in bed with a massager and massaged my legs for a couple of hours last night. This morning I didn't feel real good - my stomach hurt and then finally I was in the bathroom for hours (coming out both ends), plus sweating and feeling really, really tired. I told my mom and mother-in-law and they both are saying I just have the flu. And that's possible, but, earlier someone said that toxins are stored in fat and I should do something to help release the toxins (like a sauna).

Has anyone ever detoxed and had so much toxins released that it made them sick? It's just weird because it felt more like food poisoning to me than the flu but both my mother's think I'm "nuts". Of course, their solution is to eat some crackers and drink warm 7UP ("hello, I only eat raw food") so I don't think they are good sources of information for me now as they have no knowledge of this. Can anyone offer more information? Thanks!

massage can definitely assist or speed the detox process, and detox symptoms and flu symptoms are similar, so look inside and trust your own experience. you've had the flu probably lots of times. if this feels different to you, if it feels like detox, it probably is. (feels cool to trust your body, doesn't it?)

either way, you can't go wrong. you do the same things. lots of rest, lots of water, lots of positive thoughts. 7 up and crackers won't help you with detox OR the flu! (and neither will a grilled cheese sandwich and chicken soup!) :)

if you want to try to speed your detox a bit, you could soak in a warm bath w/baking soda or epsom salts and/or do some dry skin brushing. won't hurt you if its the flu either (well, the dry brushing might hurt...)

Thank you for the reassurance maui_butterfly. Yes, you are right, it feels good to start to know my own body. :)
