I found out recently (within the past week) that my daughter and I are both celiac. She is almost 12 months old. She has had rashes basically since she was born. She is breastfeed, and I found out that wheat bothered her through my milk when I would eat wheat but I never thought it could be celiac. I did not know much about it. I stopped eating wheat because it bothered her, but I went back to eating it again recently before finding out that we have a gluten intolerance.

Recently, I got food poisoning which was awful and when I started feeling better and was able to eat again, I started eating rye bread sandwiches, spelt pretzels and wheat crackers (before I knew I was celiac obviously) and I started to feel bad again. Now my stomach is so aggravated I can hardly eat without feeling nauseated and having stomach pain. Its probably been about 3-4 weeks since I've had gluten. I've been living on potatoes.

My next approach is drinking fresh raw juices because I know they heal the digestive tract. I am using a Green Life Juicer for that. My overall goal is to transition back to the raw diet completely but since I am having such a hard time right now I cannot digest seeds or nuts. I am hoping that I can handle liquids. I ordered a vitamix and it is on the way!

Is there anyone who has dealt celiac and became raw? I would love any info you may have! Thank you :) Even if you are not celiac and would like to say something feel free.

I have intolerances to gluten, dairy, and soy. I never was "officially" tested for celiac because I kinda figured it out on my own and when I made my appt. they said the gluten reaction would only be present if it were in my system and since I did not want to get SICK I opted to just so gluten and dairy free on my own, then I discovered soy bothered me....After trying to be sooooo careful about reading labels and what not I just wanted to simplify things and discovered raw foods....Wow, what a difference it has made in my life!!!!! I have been raw since August, '05 with a couple backslides here and there....When I do "fall off the wagon" so to speak, I feel it the next day and for about 5 days!!! Just a week ago I had a bit too much of "Bragg's Liquid Aminos" unbeknownst to the fact it was soy (yes, still learning even after a couple of years!!!) and was back to square 1 just last week. I think I reacted more "violently" because I have had such a "clean" lifestyle. At any rate, today is day 7 of the Master Cleanse" for me and I can honestly say I feel great and am "back to myself" again. So, to answer your questions, raw foods will definately help you. If you have any questions you can usually "search" up at the top for whatever you need to know and someone has been through it. This is a great site for information AND support! Good luck!

just a quick note to say hang in there! I have serious digestive "issues" but never really thought about the gluten / wheat products. I have been trying to say away from most breads all together but find having a small sandwich with a grained bread hits the spot!!! I am super new at RAW and taking baby steps to get 100%...not quiet there yet!!!

I hope you find what you are looking for! I am interested in the findings as well!

Thanks nfracer. I am really looking forward to recovering on raw food and staying on that diet for the rest of my life.

Good luck to you as well BeadedGraces. Everyone is different and they transition to raw in their own time --- for some over night and others take baby steps. :)
