My dog likes broccoli and apples but...

I'd like him to eat more raw foods.

does anyone know of a website that might list which foods are safe for dogs to eat and which foods are not?

I know cacao is supposed to be very, very bad for dogs...

Lazarita,

If you google "BARF diet for dogs" (BARF stands for Bones And Raw Food) on the internet you will get a ton of hits. There are some excellent websites to help people find the right way to feed their pets raw food. Just like for us, it's a process and a journey. Both my dogs are raw and even though my vet isn't crazy about it (my regular vet dislikes the idea but my homeopathic vet sells the raw food) she has to admit how healthy their teeth, skin and hair are.

My husband wasn't to keen on it at first either (he's not raw) and he thought they would get sick from eating raw meat..but they don't. But I do give them high grade organic meat. A friend of mine feeds her dog a vegetarian raw diet but I'm not ready for that yet.:o

You could start with www.barfworld.com
http://www.njboxers.com/faqs.htm has a list of the 50 most frequent questions asked by people new to feeding a raw diet to their pets.

I hope this helps a little and I wish you the best in your journey to feeding your dog raw.

This is a pretty thorough site.

If you want something more, you can just do a search on any engine for "toxic, foods, dogs."
