Hi just wondering if you can make you own dried raw coconut at home? I have a small excalibur and I can buy a coconut at the store... what do you think? Shread it and dehydrate?? How long??

im sure you could do it. probably just use a brown, mature coconut, shred out the meat, but im not sure how long it would take to dehydrate-overnight maybe?

I don't see why it wouldn't work...

I found out, purely by accident, that if you put coconut meat through a juicer the remaining pulp dries out really easily overnight... :D You don't get much juice out of them though ;)

I did this once and it does work, but it seemed as though it had a limited shelf life as after a few months it tasted like soap (what coconut taste like when they're bad). Maybe I didn't dehydrate enough, otherwise it just doesn't keep well when raw, but I do remember seeing raw shredded coconut online but I'm not sure of it's shelf life.
