I ordered two bags of raw oats from Alissa's store. We tried making raw oatmeal.. and I'm sorry to say it was pretty disgusting... so at $8.59 a bag, I figured I'd better find something good to do with them...
I remembered a Juliano Oatmeal Cookies recipe from his book.. basically I just ground the oats into a flour in my food processor, then added some cocoa powder (mine isn't raw), some agave, and a little water to clump the dough together. Made into shapes, and popped in the dehydrator. Came out GREAT! Really simple and delicious, and my wife loves them as well. For the first batch, I put in some chopped up dates.. tonight I whipped together a batch in about 15 minutes, before American Idol came on. :)
Not sure I'd order more.. pretty expensive oatmeal cookies.. never mind I found the same product for less than half of what I paid somewhere else (after I bought them, of course!).. next time I'll probably just use raw oat groats, since that's what Juliano recommends.
Next batch will be.. no cocoa powder.. but I may add nuts, raisins and vanilla.
