Has anyone ever used this skin care product line?

What did you want to know about the products, glimr? I have a friend who swears by them. She won't use anything else. She is in her early 50's, noticing her skin is different now and thinks that the products are the cat's meow! I find them a bit oily for myself. However, one of the creams in the line seems to be of high quality and really free of chemicals as advertised.

Someone on here posted a wonderful site,Skin Deep Cosmetic Safety Database. This site takes all the so called natural and organic bath/body products and rates them for safety. It seems not all these products are what they seem. And some are no safer then the regular run of mill drugstore bath/body products which are cheaper, I might add!

Thanks for the reply...I've seen and used that site...very eye-opening.
I have mild rosacea...have tried tons of different products over the years including just washing with water or honey, using coconut oil...aloe juice, etc...nothing has ever seemed to make a difference. I don't break out but am always slightly reddish/pinkish. I do have very sensitive skin all over, use no detergents, etc...wash clothes w/soap nuts. My facial skin just doesn't feel great...always flushed to some degree except when I first wake up in the morning. I guess I was hoping for someone who had tried them and loved them. I just bought the trial kit and it seems ok...no blatant reactions. I too found the moisturizers too thick but might try the one for oily skin even though mine is not, they are usually lighter...just fishing for any info I guess~ *s*

Glimr -
I like playing around the fruits and vegs and essential oils to make raw skin care products for my own use, so here is my two cents.

Although Dr. Hauschka's line is very nice, personally I think it's overpriced. To clean my face, I buy vegetable glycerin and add the essential oil of rose and come out with a mild cleaner for a fraction of the cost. It can also be used as a moisturizer.

For your skin, I would stay away from anything citrus-based, as it will irritate and inflame.

Here's two things to try:

Cleanser and Moisturizer: 1/2c distilled water, 2 tsp. veg glycerin (at any hfs) and 5 drops of chamomile essential oil. pour into a container and shake before use

Oatmeal Pack: 1/2 of raw oats and grind in coffee grinder to make poweder; add in enough water to make a paste: use half of an avocado and add it to the masque. Oatmeal is very calming.

My feeling is: if you can eat it, you should be able to put it on your skin!

glimr, have you tried the oil cleansing method? i used to have dry patches on my face and really sensitive skin that wouldn't tolerate any face creams or washes. ocm cleared it all up. best part is you mix it up yourself, its just castor oil and olive oil. i wash my face with water now but sometimes i'll do it for fun because it makes my skin extra soft and it feels nice to give yourself a face massage.

this site has info and links on it:

I tried dr hauschka's line a couple years ago in a desperate attempt to clear up my acne and blackheads and improve my skin condition. first i bought the trial pack for oily skin, but couldnt tell after it was gone if it had made any difference because it didnt last that long. so then i bought standard sizes of all the face stuff, which cost about a billion dollars, including this special skin balancing serum that comes in individual glass disposable vials for each dosage/day. that seriously cost at least a hundred dollars for those alone. and i noticed no difference using them or using the rest of the stuff. so i consider it a waste. that said, i did feel like at least i was putting pure products on my face, and my condition didnt worsen, and the stuff smelled good and it felt good putting it on but it was really frustrating it didnt DO anything for me.

ALSO, i notice that one of their ingredients now is "fragrance." now, you could call and ask the company if their fragrance is ONLY pure essential oils, but if its not just essential oils, then i wouldnt mess with it because "fragrance" can include all sorts of chemicals.
