Anyone know if it's okay to give raw strawberries to a 8 1/2 months old?
Thanks,
Michelle

I would rinse the strawberries off really well. And just try one or two berries. My twins tried strawberries at about 9-10 months. My son got a little rash around his mouth but my daughter was fine. Now, at 14 months, they eat them all of the time with no problems.

Migrou, I have never heard anything negative about giving strawberries to an 8 1/2 month old child.
Blessings.

Thanks Tracy and Twin, I feel better knowing this as I gave him a bit (5-6 spoonful) of my smoothie (water, banana and strawberries) for lunch and I was a tad worried!

My twins love smoothies. I make them with bananas and whatever berries (even kiwi) that I have on hand. When you are ready to start almond butter, try a spoonful of that for some added depth. So good. Oh, and I make it nice and thick so they are kept very busy for a while getting it out of their sippy cups!

Great suggestion about the almond butter, I'll try it for myself, later for my son!
Thanks :)

Migrou, I know it's been a couple of months since you posted your question, but I still wanted to reply, because I just recently fed my 11 1/2 mo old two strawberries last week. He had a bad reaction to them. It gave him diareah all day the next day. This is the only reaction he has ever had to a food. I think I am just going to wait a few months and try them again...
