does anyone dehydrate potatoes to make a chip? i have done this with sweet potatoes, and the second time sweet potatoes with salt. I'm looking for a snack to take on the bicycle (i ride ~4-6 hours and can't just eat lara bars)
I never see a recipe for this. Mine are a bit leathery. has anyone tried this with success?
Alissa has a good one in her book!

I've tried using white potatoes but haven't had any luck as of yet. EPPP (one of our members here) has a recipe and hers look really good in the photo but when I tried to make them, they were still starchy so I haven't quite gotten the hang of it yet. Here's the link: http://rawfoodtalk.com/showthread.php?t=16913&highlight=store+bought+chips
and there was another recipe posted by Doe with a tip about using lemon juice: http://rawfoodtalk.com/showthread.php?t=32497&highlight=chips
Doe's chips look really good too! I don't think I've tried her method yet...perhaps I will!

I've tried to make the sweet potato chips in Alissa's book and they never get crunchy. I've tried dehydrating them longer but they just get smaller and chewy instead of crunchy. Are they supposed to eventually get crunchy? Maybe I'm doing something wrong?
