hey there..im shannon in canada.
i really want to try this out...but im wondering if i were to just eat nuts and dried fruit, veggies, fruits etc, without making the meals, would that have similar results?
im a single mom on the go,and dont really want to attempt being a raw foods chef extraordinaire,i just want to get this ball rolling.
and also, does flax seed granola, count as something we can eat??
thanks everyone!

Hi Shannon! I am also a busy mom with two small girls who I homeschool. We eat very simply in our house ~ it is easier for me and I've had just splendid results. I'm not sure what flax seed granola is so I can't comment on that but if it comes in a package, it's probably not raw. Good luck! :D

Aloha and Welcome to RFT!!! So glad you have joined us! Lots of us eat seeds, nuts and fruit -- but remember that dried fruit has a higher concentration of natural sugars too!
Over time you will find what works best for you, salads are really great too and very quick...
also -- there are ALOT of recipes in Alissa's book that are REALLY simple to make -- you don't have to be a chef extraordinaire to whip them up! they are sooo simple, easy and lots of fun and the best part... they're really delicious too!!! Just eating nuts and fruit might get a bit boring after a time.... but you may just love it!!
so ... blessings on your journey - and it's wonderful to have you joining us!!
RAWK ON!!

Keeping it simple is VERY key for most people. Lots of fruit for breakfast, a green drink for lunch and a huge salad for dinner. Any snacks inbetween can be fruit, nuts etc and when I make something, it's usualy a dessert . Yes, I had a teacher that used to say "keep it simple student" (KISS)

Hi there....
I'm super new to raw myself, but the one thing I do know is that flax is GREAT and can be eaten on a raw foods diet.
I started today with my dietary changes, but I have been eating flax crackers and oils for a few months now and love them!
Go to www.foodsalive.com - they have these amazing flax seed crackers, oils and salad dressings. All are Organic, Raw, Vegan, Gluten Free, Omega-3, High Fiber & Kosher. I'm not a rep from Foods Alive (however I do know the owners) - not trying to plug them - I just know that today the BBQ flax crackers are saving me from eating potato chips. :D
Anyone know if we can use raw honey?

Just eat simply, if you know for sure that it is raw & vegan, eat it!! Make sure you drink green smoothies, they provide tons of nutrition!!
