Hi, I am going to look into trying to switch my cat to raw. I'm not sure how it will go as she will only eat dry food - no canned or anything else. Does anyone know of any places to order frozen prepackaged raw meals for cats? There was one that someone mentioned and I checked into but they're shutting down the business - can't remember the name though.
Thanks!

Hello!!!!!
Feeding your cat raw is the best thing you can do!
I just switched my cat over after 4 years of a (relatively healthy) grain-free canned cat food. I also fed dry, but weaned her off of that quite a while back. I would suggest that the first thing you do is get her off dry and into eating a good-quality grain-free canned food. (wellness has some grain free types, and there are others as well) If she is really into her dry, it will be a S L O W process. Just mix a teeny bit of wet into the dry to start. Then gradually (over weeks if need be) add more and more wet until she eats that. The canned food has the added benefit of providing more water in her diet and is closer in feel/texture to raw. Once she can handle the canned, I would begin the transition to raw. I have read that the different digestion rates of cooked and raw indicate that you should not feed them together, but I needed to make the raw more "appetizing" by adding a bit of the stinky, more familiar canned when I was switching her. But I switched to raw the same way. I started with the pre-made raw patties (thawed and heated to room temp in warm water) and slowly got her eating that. She ate less that first week and seemed more tired than usual, but now has tons of energy and her favourite time of the day is mealtime!!! She goes crazy (I posted about this in the forum). It is great. I am now transitioning her to eating more whole foods and less ground. She is loving it. Google rawfedcats for info - there is alot of information out there! I researched for a long time before deciding to take the plunge, and it was difficult since she was healthy and I thought "why mess with this?" But I know that ultimately it is better, and I really notice the difference!
Oh - and I feed raw from a local company, but there lots of raw food companies now. I don't know US companies though - maybe someone here can help!
