Hi,

I posted here a few weeks ago with my typical daily raw diet, and someone pointed out it was about 80% calories were from fat,, the remaining 20% from protien and carbohyrates! I've since learned that this is totally, totally wrong and it should be carbs nearer the 80% and my fat intake is too high.I've decied to obviously cut some of the fat out, and although i eat 6 bananas and 4 apples for example on an average day, my calories from carbs is only just about 50%. The problem is my teeth aren't the best and im not sure if eating sugary fruits like apples, banas, pears on a bigger scale with do my teeth any good.

I was thinking possibly having a big salad, with low-sugar fruits in it like tomoatoes peppers etc but as they are low sugar would this really increase my card intake a great deal?

Any help would be great!!

If your teeth are bad ... you could experiment with smoothies, blended salads and raw soups. Good luck.

Fresh fruit won't cause much of a problem, you should watch out for dried fruits, where the acids are much more concentrated. You could pack carb-calories into smoothies, which you can drink with a straw to prevent the sugar touching your teeth so much.

I am not sure that this is a good idea (but do not mind being contradicted). Digestion begins in your mouth. This part of the process is important. The saliva produced there is the correct match for the food in the mouth and it also tells the rest of the system what is coming and what to prepare for. If you continually bypass this part of the process then you may not get the best from your food.
It may be better to eat your fruit first and then follow it with a lower sugar food or rinse your mouth well when finished.

if you're going to try to get a significantly lower fat intake (in terms of a ratio of calories consumed), you must cut fat obviously but also boost sweet fruit intake because in general vegetables and low-sugar fruits, while they provide lots and lots of excellent nutrients, do not provide the calories you need.

a balanced raw diet should improve your teeth but you might check out oil pulling for an extra precaution. there are some threads on this site that talk about it. its awesome for the teeth!
