Hello! My grandson is a year old, but has no teeth that have come through yet. My daughter is still nursing him and would like to know what things other than mashed bananas and avocadoes that she can feed him now until he gets teeth to chew with.
Thank you!

There is a great book called "Baby Greens" that has alot of info and recipes in the back. Things like puree cucumber and apples togethr or celery, apple, lemon and parsley. Great book!
Also, I think just nursing is fine also if she and the baby are okay with that too. I am nursing a 15 mo old who is just getting inot eating more foods lately. What a great start she is giving the baby!

Hi,
Green Smoothies for everyone in the family including baby is the missing piece from my first book "Baby Greens" . If I'd known about them then, I would have devoted a whole chapter this amazing food. Milder, fully ripened fruits such as apples, pears, persimmons, fresh figs, peaches, plums, etc. can be combined with mild greens (such as lettuces, spinach, edible "weeds"-like lambs quarter) in a blender with enough water to liquify and you have a super-food smoothie. (For move information on the importance of greens in a raw diet, and for more on green smoothies. I reccommend Victoria Boutenko's book "Green for Life". Her website "www.rawfamily.com". ) For my children who are now ages 6 and 2, I also add agave nectar or soaked dried fruit to add a little more sweetness. For baby who is just starting solids, start w/ apple & pear and then move up to the more subacidic fruits like peaches and plums. You may want to de-seed fresh figs as they may irritate bowls at first. Both of my children also ate melon as one of their first foods. Because melon digests so quickly it is not reccommended that this fruit mixes with other foods as may cause indigestion (even breastmilk). My book "Baby Greens" is available from Nature's First Law (www.rawfood.com).
Blessings,
Michaela
