There are a number of recipes in Alissa's book that call for vanilla. What kind of vanilla is she talking about? I didn't think it was vanilla extract because that has alcohol and other odd ingredients in it. Is she referring to the vanilla from raw vanilla beans? If anyone has any answers that would be great!!

I could be wrong but I think Vanilla extract..

She means vanilla extract. Some brands contain small amounts of alcohol but there are some that do not (Frontier brand has both an alcohol version and a non-alcohol version and it's organic) but you can also get and use vanilla beans and just scrape out the contents inside the pod and use that if you desire.
