Hello Everyone!

I have a question and if anyone has some insight on this that would be great!

As I understand it, flax seeds need to be ground to be fully digested (or put in smoothie, etc.) otherwise, if you eat the flax seeds whole, they just go right through you...

So, my question is... with all these dehydrated crackers and stuff where the flax seeds are whole, don't they just move right through you? are you still getting any nutrition from them eating them this way? anyone know? also, won't they go rancid from being out for so long?

thanks in advance!

As they go through you, they make Great Fiber so all is not lost. They will ground in a Vita-Mix along with your Smoothie or small grinder. In Crackers I grind some and leave some whole. You have to open them up to get the Nutrients................

I am not sure that anyone uses flax seeds in crackers unless the have either been ground or presoaked because they will not do the job of binding unless they are activated in some way.
Presoaking has the same effect as grinding and you will get the benifits.

You can eat them whole and get the nutrition from them if you chew them well. In other words, you grind them in your mouth. If you put whole flax seeds in your smoothie, make sure to chew your smoothie.
