Hello... I used to frequent this forum about a year to a year and a half ago... but fell completely away from RAW. I'm trying to come back now... as I'm feeling completely miserable, achey, and exhausted. I have about 40 lbs to lose and a tonne of energy and loving-life to gain.

I've always been a person who needed a solid, heavy breakfast to start the day. When I start eating fruit for mornings it's okay in the beginning, and then I find after a week or two I'm just starving, no matter how much fruit I eat. Does anyone have any ideas for morning food that will help me to get thru the initial transition? Or is this just something that everyone goes thru and you have to push thru?

I should add that I'm a product of the Kraft Dinner generation... lots of prepared meals, so I have a LOT of nourishing to do.

Thanks,
Sandra

How about green smoothies? They are a complete and satiating meal ~ Cathy

I like having raw walnuts in the mornings if I still feel hungry after the fruit.

i use a cacao/banana/maca smoothie for those days, or some apple dipped in nut butter.

some days i even have a salad in the AM.

The great thing about raw is you can eat whatever you want for breakfast, basically! I eat raw brownies for breakfast if we don't have any fruit!

I will generally eat a green smoothie in the am - but I eat a ton and also was used to eating most of my daily food by mid afternoon (which I still do). I could eat 2 litres of smoothie with no problems - and unlike everyone else apparently, I found smoothies don't keep me full until lunch regardless of all the superfood/fats/oils/maca I add.. I can't really do the plain fruit for breakfast - but I could for dinner!
I make nut bars and cookies which I will eat mid morning (or after my smoothie if I am starving!!) and I find they are really satisfying and chewy and make me feel like I actually ate!! I also make sweet zucchini bread/crackers and top them with almond butter - this is toast-like and filling as well.

I start the morning with raw oatmeal! It's delicious and filling. If your health food store does not sell raw oats, you can order from Alissa's website. I soak the oats overnight, then in the morning I food process the oats with a banana and cinnamon and top with raisins or blueberries. Its is great. Alissa also has a recipe for porridge, which is similar to the above but adds dates, nutmeg and vanilla.

Good luck.
