I am currently enjoying some slices of apples which I dehydrated (in my new excalibur - wahey:) ) last night and they are delish - if I do so say myself :D

Somtimes it's the simple things that are best I guess! I tried fruit leathers too, but still prefer the basic dried apple slices. They make great snacks and are helping me cut down on non-raw snacks (I'm not eating a massive amount of raw at the moment, but am trying to get back on track...)

Anyone else had success with dehydrating fruit slices? I want to try pears and pineapples next

Our family and all my kids friends love it when we make dehydrated bananas. I don't put anything on them to keep them from browning and they are great....just bananas cut in coin shapes.

mmm bananas

I did try dehydrating them but maybe I didn't do it for long enough or something - they didn't turn out that great. Do you slice them quite thinly Jacsam or quite thickly?

I finally dried some bananas successfully....the only problem that I had was that I drizzled with orange juice. I was thinking that the citrus might keep them from browning and even add flavor. It did add some flavor, but they still turned brown, and were slightly sticky. They were still good and got eaten. People just give you funny looks eating brown bananas!

How long can you keep dehydrated fruits before they go bad? Just an estimate. If I get them as dry as possible??

I would love to try some apples and pears next. I need tips on that.

I also CUT my bananas kinda thick, about 1/4 inch thick.

Can you make them crispy without adding oil? My friend is over at my house with a box of bananas and we wanted to make some crispy and some chewy. What temp and how long should we put them at for both?

just an update.... we left the banana chips in for 4 days on 90°... they were super-chewy straight from the D, but after that were like rocks. Not crispy. lol.
