I was just thinking about tempeh that I used to eat before I went raw. As I recall, it is made of fermented soybeans. Would that place it in the same kind of category as miso? Or would it just be disgusting to eat raw?

Hey Hannah! When I looked up Tempeh on Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tempeh) it says that to make it, the soybeans are partially cooked. Ergo, it's not really raw! Who knew?! I certainly didn't! Oh, and I would imagine the taste would leave much to be desired eaten uncooked....rather bland I would think!

Yeah, I knew the soybeans would be initially cooked but was thinking that the fermentation might mean it had enzymes and stuff...but yeah, either way it would be gross raw! Probably like eating rubber, ew
