Okay, I love my dehydrator because I can actually make dishes. Of course I store everything in the fridge and go about my day. However, when I get home I want some warm food, immediately. I put up my microwave and I am going through a microwave withdrawal!!!!! Putting the food in the dehydrator for 20 minutes doesnt' even get it warm. It just knocks off the fridge cold but it is still too cold (not even room temperature).

If it isn't cold enough outside, I have to come home and eat refridgerated cold meals. :(

i feel your pain - I get so cold when I eat cold foods. I drink green tea to warm me up after I eat. Not sure if that is 100% raw or not but its better than nothing!

anything with a lot of liquid can easily be heated. Use warm water to start or if you have a Vitamix, warm up the liquid in the Vitamix before adding everything else.

It'll get better the longer you are raw. I used to crave warm and hot foods and beverages, esp soups and teas but now I don't. It has only been a year that I've been raw and not even 100%. Hang in there.

We had a 104 degree temperature variation in the state today and the state's high was only 37 degrees F! It was -28 for most of the day and now it is -9 and dropping again! It is supposed to drop down to at least 25 below zero tonight! The clouds will come back in a few days and it will warm up a bit.

Yesterday was my birthday and my husband and I went out to eat. I caved and ordered some Hungarian Mushroom soup and a piece of warmed blueberry pie. Then spent most of the night with a very unsettled stomach. Hopefully I learned my lesson. Raw doesn't affect me like that! So, now it is back to eating the foods that seem to agree with me!

Well, if it makes you feel any better, this article will put you off of microwaves forever: http://curezone.com/foods/microwave_oven_risk.asp

and: http://www.relfe.com/microwave.html

I hope it gets better for you! I don't live anywhere it gets super cold, but I can imagine how hard that would be. I'm sending {{warm vibes}} your way!! :)

It's best to always allow your food to come to room temperature before eating it but I know that's not always possible. You can gently warm it on the stove. As long as you can still stick your finger it without getting burnt, then the temperature isn't too high.

EZ Rider--I've seen you mention the Bean Pot before. Do you have one?

EZ Rider--I've seen you mention the Bean Pot before. Do you have one?No, I only eat fresh raw foods as they are grown in the earth. I choose to eat simple and fresh meals without heating or freezing foods and in simple combinations. However, I realize that we are all different and do raw differently and I support each and everyone in their raw lifestyle journey and the decisions they make about the way they do raw. If someone wants to make raw soups at 115 f ( still raw IMO ) that is their choice and I support them in their journey and in their choices :)

i keep my tomatoes, citrus fruits, apples and avocadoes on the counter top in lovily bowls. it makes a winter kitchen look alive and abundant and keeps those foods at room temperature.

i zip up a quick avocadoe dip by adding salt and organic hot pepper sauce and mashing it up on a plate. i dip apple and tomatoe slices into it. all the ingredients are room temperature, not cold at all so it doesn't make me cold.

if you're really in need of some heat, put a cup of water in a pot, it'll boil quick and you can make a tea out of it. that wouldn't take long at all.

good luck, jen

on the Maverick bean pot. I'm thinking of getting one. I like things warm too. I've been thinking of heating up water to 115 degrees, then pouring the water into my crockpot but not turn the crockpot on. Then putting a pot of soup or whatever in the water in the crockpot (making sure, of course, that the water doesn't get into the pot of soup!), put the top on and let it sit there while I'm at work. Hopefully, it will at least be warm by the time I get home. I just do not like soup from the refrigerator or even room temperature, as I'm afraid to let it sit out as long as it would take to get to room temperature. Besides, our room temperature is usually 65 or 70 degrees, which isn't very warm for soup!! I'm just worried that the pot of soup might end up floating in the water and maybe tipping over!!! Sounds like alot of work to get something warm, doesn't it? You know what? - that Maverick is sounding better and better by the minute to me!! (Ha! Ha!)
