Laser hair removal is permanent. It is expensive, but lasts. I had it done- my hairy Mediterranean heritage was requiring me to wax every 2 weeks or so, and so the cost of the laser hair removal was justified (for me). Plus, it works on areas you can't typically wax due to pain (such as the underarms).

I really like the results I've gotten, and for me it has been worth it. Now that I'm raw, I'm not sure if laser was the healthiest thing to do (I'd have to do more research), but I didn't have any adverse effects. :) So far, so good. Plus, it is awesome to not have to go through waxing, which just tore up my skin and put a huge dent in my pocketbook.

The other way is electrolysis. You can buy a home electrolysis hair removal thingy and it works but not as fast as laser.:)
