Hi fellow raw fooders!!

I have been totally raw for two weeks now. Prior to going all raw I was on a detox diet for two weeks which consisted of raw fruit, raw/cooked veggies and some cooked grains. I was already in detox when I made the transition to 100% raw and experiencing symptoms of detox. My question is how long does it take to get over detox? I am 55 years old, have weaned myself off caffeine, sugar, and 1/2 dozen prescription meds. I have a lot of health problems, which is why I decided to take what some consider "drastic measures". I read on the board about how people are wonderful after two weeks. What is a reasonable amount of time to expect to get to the point where you are no longer having to live in the bathroom, have extremely dry itchy skin, and any other detox symptoms? Does the fact that a person is older and having health problems make a difference? I guess I had a pretty crappy diet prior to, and had been on meds for quite some time.

Thanks for any input!

Oh yeah, I forgot.....I have actually been on amoxicillian (sp?) for 8 days due to urinary tract infection. Is my body trying to detox the amoxicillian?

Opinion:

If you have been eating/living unhealthy for many years....it may take many months....or even longer....to realize the full benefits. This is certainly the case if one is STILL eating poor foods and taking medications. The good news is that your body will already be re-building...and you should be experiencing good initial feelings of satisfaction and health. Remember: Your task is to examine where you are RIGHT NOW...and find the little ways to put ONE foot in front of the other. Even the masters have the same task. :)

Power and success to you!

i read about that too, and i think its a load of rubbish to just generalise like that. the bottom line is it depends the diet and medication history and how long you have been on both for.
