View Full Version : Please tell me I deserve this!

I'm ready to let go of my daily bagel or pasta. I am scared. It's my main non-raw thing. I don't have a dehydrator yet and won't for about a month. I've realized I can't keep ordering raw crackers online b/c they are way too expensive that way--for me. So, I feel like I'm giving up my pacifier. No kidding.
I think what I'm doing with the bread is holding myself back out of fear--because I was feeling SUCH lightness and energy that it scared me ....but I also have realized that there is a very OLD belief still operating within me that I do not deserve something this wonderful. This is more powerful than the fear, I think. It is very familiar to me to take something away from myself that I really, really want and to feel the old sadness. I want to deal with this old tape and work through it. I feel ready. And I DO talk about all this in therapy, so don't feel you have to therapize me! :p
Buuuuut.....if you could just tell me I deserve to succeed with this, that would mean alot.
Thanks everyone!

You can and will succeed! Not only do you deserve this, but your body deserves the utmost care and going 100% will show your body how much you respect and love it! You organs deserve to have help digesting healthy and enzyme enriched food! Your blood deserves to not have to work to help your stomach digest food too!
And most of all, you deserve (and can!) to have the energy and glow that being 100% brings. You can do it! I have faith in you! :)

'Regulating' your detox....and how quickly/intelligently to adjust to your new 'unblocked' energetic self.......is a very wise skill to master. Eating heavier raw foods will ground a person......while eating lighter fruits, fruit juices...and light fasting will accelerate detox...when things are going TOO smoothly! LOL.
-Eating what YOU think are healthier transitional processed foods is wise and good. Just make sure YOU set conscious plans and goals (with timetables) to meet YOUR goals. Beyond that it doesn't matter WHAT you are passionate about - just so long as you laser-identify it...and DO something about it on a daily basis. Just my thoughts/opinions.

hi you little raw sweetie, you really, really can do this! and you'll feel good the further your ship sails.
when i read your post it reminds me of anytime i'm scared on improving my life, not just with my body but with anything.
i can remember the first time i went to go back packing in europe when i was 21. i was sooo scared to go...i remember thinking..."am i crazy? what if i get lost? or mugged? i went ANYWAY and as a result i had one of the best times of my life that changed me forever.
i remember when i first started my career, i thought "i cann't do this! what i'm i thinking? i should just stick with what i know and not start on this new path, i'm going to mess up! i don't have the talent!" i stuck to it ANYWAY and found the greatest joy in accomplishing things i'd never done before...and feeling in awe of myself for being so diligent.
i could go on and on...i bet you have memories like that too. even little ones like when i was a little girl and was soooo scared to go down the water slide at the pool, when i finally did..it was sooooo fun!
i think it is 100% natural to feel scared about trying something new. it's like moving to a new house, in a new neighborhood, at first it doesn't feel like home, but soon it will feel like you've ALWAYS lived there.
don't worry about fear, (i know what a powerful feeling it is though) just do what you dream you can ANYWAY.
what wonderful new lands we sail too, when we have the gull to un hook from the dock.
best of luck to you darling. remember: fear is just a feeling. you can walk down your new path regardless, then one day you wake up and realize you havn't felt fear in a long time, and you turn and look back, you see how very far you've come... and say "hey, that wasn't so bad at all....in fact...it was wonderful!"

YOU are wonderful & unique. Everyone has their special their own special gifts to share with the world! Now it's time for you to get healthy to release that gift just for yourself & the world, too. You allowing yourself to be you is your gift to the world! :D
Eating SAD just numbs all that. It's a NO-GO! Time to march to your own beautiful tune! Go! Go! GO! :D
Also, I'm a hug-ho. *hugs to you!* http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/ii81/outsideanimage/smileyhugsilly.gif

You can do it! I took me two years to get the "right" emotional place. Looking back it had to be that way, it had to be a journey. Every up & down has lead me to be this strong confidant 100% raw person!
Let me help you give up the wheat - EVIL monster that it is. . . send me your address and I will send you a bunch of dehydrated cookies & crackers, to tied you over until your dehydrator arrives!
Cheers,
EPPP

I am saving this thread FOREVER!!!
Thank you EVERYONE. How beautiful of you and how fortunate I am.
Your words make all the difference to me. I feel very cared for and believed in and I appreciate it so much....you've made my day feel very special.
EPPP~~I kept rereading your words b/c I couldn't register that you were actually offering something so sweet and loving and generous. Finally, I just went, "OMG! She's saying she'll SEND me FOOD!" That is amazingly sweet of you! Of course I will say yes! I don't know what to say...that is SO unbelievably kind. What a gift. Thank you so much for offering. I will try to figure out how to email you right now!
Much love and many HUGS to all of you. xoxo

Raw Sweetie: You make me laugh! Got your email. I shall get right to "baking"! I estimate to ship in about one week as I only have a four tray dehydrator figure about 2-3 days for each recipe to get really chrunchy. I am waiting for Alissa's super new dehydrator to come out:rolleyes:
What are your cravings for? Sweet, Salty, Creamy, crunchy?
Cheers,
EPPP

Oh Yes!!! You deserve it all!! Happiness and Vibrant Health! I have just been struggling with the same feeling of more clarity than I though I could deal with.
I was overwhelmed with all the emotions that used to be numbed by overeating. I found myself naturally eating more nuts and heavier raw foods for a while. I find that it comes and goes and is more intense when I have more quiet time. I have also said exactly what you said about the crackers. I am not quite ready to spend the money on a dehydrator, but can't afford to buy crackers on line. I really love flax crackers! I'm waiting impatiently!
I think these feelings of discomfort are part of making a radical change in our lives and our selves. Like detox, it is a "healing crisis", but it will be worth it when we get through it. You can do it!!! Best wishes! You are not alone.:)

OK RawSweetie,
Here is a photo sample of some of the goodies i have whipped up in my dehydrtaor. As I mentioned this is going slowly because not only do I have a four tray but one of my Teflex sheets is missing!!!
In the photo I have:
Zuchinni Crackers: from Carol Alt's The Raw 50. These are great and unlike any other cracker because it has so much texture and at the same time is very neutral. You can have this sweet or savory. I sooo easy too.
Cinnamon Raisin crackers: From the raw magazine Purely Delicious winter 2008 recipe by Brigitte Mars (the secret is to dehydrate 4-5 days)
Vanilla & Chocolate Coconut Macaroons: from Raw Food Real World
Tamari marinated Sunflower Seeds:- crunchy & salty, Yum!
I have MA Onion Bread in the dehydrator and when thats done I shall send everything off!
Hang in there!

So-o totally agree with everyone else's input, and yes, you do deserve to have this! It IS scary beginning something new, especially if one might not be getting support from one's immediate environment. If you can get it firmly in your mind the huge health and energy payoff you will get by adopting a more raw diet(whatever percentage that might ultimately be for you)this will be a big help. Getting those refined wheat products out of your diet is a huge step and will do you more good than you know, because the wheat these days is highly hybridized and has a much higher level of gluten in it than say 100 years ago. This is why many people are coming out with gluten-sensitivity issues now. Anyway, what many people notice when they go off wheat(and other gluten-containing grains too)is that they have more energy, even without having a full-blown gluten sensitivity or celiac disease going on!
It's great that another board member is sending you some goodies too. You will LOVE your dehydrator when you get it - I know it's hard waiting right now.
Hang in there!
