Hello everybody,

New to the board. I’ve been lurking for a couple of weeks now and I actually posted a question on one of the other subject boards, but somehow missed the introduction.

I have been 100% raw for 2 weeks. I initially started out on a detox diet that consisted of raw fruit, raw & cooked veggies, and some whole cooked grains. I did that for about 2 weeks. The main reason I ended up eating this way is because of health reasons, mainly gastrointestinal related. It wasn’t until I went totally raw that I started to notice a MAJOR improvement in that area of my health. I have weaned myself off of a 1/2 dozen prescription meds, caffeine, sugar and alcohol. I have absolutely no graving for any of those things. I ahve been a coffee drinker my whole life, (I am 55 years old) used acohol to medicate myself and always graved sweets.

I am just totally thrilled that I finally decided to give the raw food diet a chance. I have know about it for a number of years, but just could not fathom it was something I would be able to do and I though people that did eat that way were a little "over the edge". :o

I'm so excited I found this place and hope that I may be able to meet people who live in my area.

Thanks!

Hi Dancer!

I live in Stockton which is about an hour drive from Napa. I love that area too. I frequently go to Calistoga, which is about another 20 min from Napa. Calistoga has the greatest spa where you can take a real mud bath.Yep; you get into a big tub of mud!! It's great. My dream is to live in Calistoga one day. I probably won’t be visiting wine country too often now anymore since I don’t plan on partaking of the fruit of the vine!
