Hello.
I had my very first green smoothie yesterday. I put some rice milk (still transitioning) some kale and a banana in the blender and whooshed it up till smooth and we drank it. banana really does neutralise the kale taste doesn't it. The only trouble was that later I had too much wind.
Is this normal?

Try it without the rice milk, be sure the banana is spotted and sweet and maybe use more tender greens, kale is kind of rough.

I was experiencing the same problem and now I've switched to juicing.

Hi there,

Use less greens and consider switching to a more mild green like baby spinach or red or green leaf or romaine lettuce.

Throw more bananas, more fruit and some dates in and it will be yummy and sweet. I always use at least five RIPE (must have at least some brown spots) bananas.

Blessings!

The rice milk added means it is a cooked smoothie, not raw.

For breakfast today I had a smoothie from 4 bananas, the juice of 4 oranges and 2 peaches. It was delicious. You don't need the rice milk...and you can add greens to the smoothie if you like as well.

What I was trying to do with the rice milk was to encourage my husband to drink the greens as he can't stand them and he is not going raw. He has just recently given up eggs. The cheese next I hope. I am just trying to introduce raw food to him. He loved the 'green shake' as it were. I will keep in mind about the bananas. Not to eat them when they are yellow. That is a good idea. I will go back to juicing the kale and use the spinach instead. I would appreciate some ideas on how to do green smoothies. You know, types of greens etc.:)
