Hello, Im 42 and just went through 6 months of hell on Nutrisytem to loose 30 pounds and now Im back to real food and trying to find my place in being healthy.

I have rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia and want to rid myself of it.

I have a wonderful husband who I love to hike and camp with. He walks with me every morning and every afternoon. I cant get him to go raw but I think once he sees the difference I beleive it will make he will at least try.

I have to admit that I am terrified that I will mess this up and gain back the weight that I tortured myself to loose.

So anyway thats a little bit about me. Not very interesting but Im here. :)

Linda

What a sweet husband to go walking with you. I too love to go walking....I also call them my sanity walks....no phones, noise or other demands, just time to think, enjoy the outdoors or visit if you have a walking partner.

Welcome to the forum and be sure to read Alissa's book....it really is insightfull and worth it. Judith:)

Hi Linda,

I am also new here. I have been reading all the other newbie post and yours really caught my eye because you said you have RA. I have a lot of health issues and recently had a lot of lab work done and followed up with my MD today. I was told I have a high rheumatoid factor and have been referred to a rheumatologist. I just feel devastated! I already have osteoporosis and osteoarthritis.

I initially started this diet in hopes of curing myself of many health problems as the doctors are unable to do so. All they can do is treat the symptoms. Since I went raw I have went off 6 prescription meds. I am no longer suffering from acid reflux, nor the horrible abdominal pains I have endured for years. I am feeling soooooo much better. I do still have some other issues that seem to be getting better but still have all this pain all throughout my body. I was thinking I may have fibromyalgia because I seem to hurt everywhere. I am hoping and praying this diet will also heal the RA.

I don’t have a lot of weight to loose (10lbs or so) and I started this diet not even thinking or caring about my weight. I just wanted to feel good. Well, I have lost about 5-6 lbs already!!!

Keep us posted on how your RA does on the raw diet.

Best of luck & health
Denise

Aloha and Welcome to RFT!!! Do you have Alissa's book and DVD? those two tools will help you to transition to the vibrant Live foods successfully --- she even has a 30 day plan and menu that you can follow. When you are new to an 'entirely' different way of eating and living... unless you have done a lot of research - it can be very confusing... that's why I looved alissa's book -- she laid everything out for me -- in simple to understand terms and made the transition so very DO'able, and lots of fun too!!

blessings on your journey -- it truly is a lot of fun!

rawk on!
