I'm trying to get more sprouts into my diet -- I want to grow them myself as a source of inexpensive, organic produce. The problem is that I have trouble liking them! So, what do you think is the easiest type to grow and the easiest to eat? I'd probably be throwing them in smoothies, to start, and I'm hoping that they won't be gritty...

Hey, Parsnip, I hear you! I'm still not fond of alfalfa sprouts! They taste like grass to me. But I recently tried sprouting myself... and discovered that I absolutely LOVE lentil sprouts!
I don't sprout as much as I would like to-somehow it doesn't seem all that easy to me as everyone says. I don't know what I am doing wrong. But I would love to find a system that works for me.

Hello there!
I am also trying to put more sprouts into my diet-so far I have just done mung beans and I put them in my smoothies.

I quite like chickpea sprouts as to me they taste like peanuts. They are super cheap to buy organically and are a doddle to sprout. I don't really put them IN things but just eat them as snacks, sometimes with some salt or herbs sprinkled on top.
What I sprout most often because of its versatility is buckwheat.
You just soak em for 20 minutes (no longer or they get gooey) and then you can actually eat them straight away as they are actually a seed not a grain. Otherwise, leave them for a day and they will get nice and dry and will have cute little tails. They go nicely in smoothies and really can be quite filling. To me they are the most 'grain-like' sprout. I'll eat them in all kinds of ways; as a porridge, as a rice with some olive oil and salt, in smoothies, and so forth...
