Okay, so the big brown truck FINALLY arrived today with my new Vitamix 5200 YIPPIE :D I was so excited!!!! Anyway, the first thing I made was Alissa's broccoli soup.... Wowee... so smooth compared to my FP! Was wondering about other fun recipes to make in it and also if it makes smoothies "too smooth".... is that an oximoron??? Anyway, what's your favorite thing to make in the VM??????

Chocolate smoothies are great. Frozen fruit and/or ice make a nice soft ice cream. Never lasts long enough to put in the freezer to make hard ice cream.

Oh I had that Broccoli soup today. Love it especially since I leave the garlic out that the recipe calls for.

You don't have to blend the green smoothies that long, otherwise they will heat up. I make almond milk with it too. I got the nutmilk bags from Alissa to strain them.

My favorite are the chocolate smoothies with coconut water as a base.

I love my VM and use it every day. It's an investment I couldn't do without. It's second only to the Cuisenart FP that I also use daily (first one broke after 15 years, I used the heck out of it since going raw.) I can live without the dehydrator but not these 2 items!!

My favorite thing to make in my VM is young coconut water (juice) and young coconut pulp (meat) and some ice blended smooth in a delicious creamy white drink. Raw food to live for :)

I love to make soups in my Vitamix - it heats it up a bit so it is not so cold. Also raw fudge. My old blender couldn't quite handle it!

Anything creamy is so much better in the VM. RFRW vanilla! So smooth and creamy :)

You know what is really good? Put a mango and an apple in there (you'll need the tamper). Blend until smooth and pour in a bowl. Top with a sprinkle of cinnamon and cut up dates and any kind of nut you like.

Made Alissa's tomato soup in my Vmix today..... it was yummy, but I put TOO many onions in it and it made my tummy burn, so I made more by adding more tomatoes. I also added celtic salt and used nama shoyu instead of braggs...... I ate it with lydia's italian crackers..... YUMMY :p I just love my new VM :D

that's so neat, shakti, that you could just whip up some RAWsome milk in seconds and soooooooooooo much healthier...... wasn't sure how almond butter would work for milk, but sounds like it did just fine!!! Thanks for sharing :D

The fruit smoothies are wonderful. You can change the receipes around as you like. The veggie drinks and Vitamix soups - you need to follow the receipe exactly until you know what your are doing. If you play with them, you will end up with some horrible stuff.
