This Saturday marked one week since I started eating 100% Raw. I celebrated by going to my first Raw Food Restaurant--Cafe Gratitude which is in Berkeley, California. The food was wonderful and I loved the atmosphere.
It was rainy and cold on Saturday and I was tempted to eat something cooked, but I watched Alissa's video and then made a collard green roll up, which I am addicted to by the way. For the first time, I did not give in to what would taste good, but followed the signals from my body that were telling me that I would feel terrible if I ate cooked foods.
I've seen changes happening already: I was having trouble walking with alot of pain in my joints. This is almost gone, my skin is beautiful and I have alot more energy. I'm getting used to being in the kitchen so much and I must say that the food is so delicious and that it makes it easy to stay Raw. A friend even remarked that he could not believe that I was smiling so much this weekend. I just feel so good!!!
I ordered a video that arrived on Saturday regarding eating Raw and it was filled with encouragement for my new lifestyle. So, all in all, I'm happy with my new life and can see it getting better and better from here on out.
Some of the dishes I attempted: Flax Crackers (Did not come out good); Mock Salmon Pate (Yummy--even Vegan boyfriend agreed); Collard Green wraps (I have these everyday now); Stuffed Portabellas (very good); Date Nut Torte (Super Yummy); Fudge Balls (Alls I can say is Wow!!!!); and an Enchilada (Just o.k.); lots of salads and green and fruit juices (Very Delicious).
Each week I look foward to making new dishes and learning more and more about this great lifestyle!!!!
Thank you for this wonderful site and all your thoughtful threads. I learn something new everyday!!!!
