i am having problems with the braggs (esp in recipes like the fetocinni alfredo sp?? in alissa's book). when i can really taste it's strong flavor it upsets my stomach and digestion, i try to use it sparingly but i know the flavor is meant to compliment other things in each recipe. are there other soy sauces that are still raw and might be easier to digest and taste better? i have also had trouble with cider vinegar on my salads. i just dont like it as much as my old balsamic or rice wine. does anyone have an opinion on this? i want to keep it raw, especially since i am eating salads and want them to be good for me!!! i am struggling with getting my salad dressings to be something satisfying, not just healthy.

thanks!!

You could substitute the Bragg's with Nama Shoyu (which Alissa now carries on her site). I used to use bragg's and I like the nama shoyu better plus, it's raw whereas the bragg's has been discovered to not be truly raw as they claimed AND it has (naturally occuring) MSG which may be why it upset your stomach.

As for the cider vinegar...you could use lemon juice instead of vinegar at all (which I've heard is better for you anyway) but if you're more concerned with it being more satisfying and not really concerned that balsamic or rice wine vinegars aren't raw, then use those for now until you feel you may no longer "need" them.

thanks!
i will get the nama shoyu, i had heard of it but didnt know if anyone else prefered it to braggs. i will alternate my vinegars and see if i can get used to the flavor of the cider. i didnt originally like balsalmic or rice vinegar at first and forced myself to use it for health reasons. now i love them! hopefully it is just a taste thing and i will get over it. thanks for responding!
